Radialight electric radiators or heat pumps? The right balance

A RADIALIGHT electric radiator heating system is not an alternative to a heat pump system but rather integrative or, if we want, complementary.

The efficiency of heat pumps is in fact recognized and for this reason heat pump systems are spreading and are the subject of important purchase incentives.

But, if you are planning to install a heat pump system or if you have installed one, it is important to clarify some limitations that could present you with practical problems to solve, which are quite frequent especially in the case of homes with a degree of insulation. not optimal.

LIMIT 1

Heat pump systems, to achieve efficiency and therefore the expected/promised savings, must work with a generally low temperature of the heating fluid (water in the air/water pumps or air in the air/air pumps), in the order of 35-40°C, through an underfloor heating system.

Due to the operating principle of the heat pump, this temperature can be even lower in particularly harsh environmental situations, in the coldest periods of the year, unless you have installed a geothermal heat pump whose investment is decidedly very important.

Even if a heat pump has been combined with wall radiators or fan coils, where the temperature of the heating fluid must necessarily be at least 60°C, it will be quite frequent for the performance of the system to be insufficient in cases of severe cold and homes or rooms with unfavorable exposure or thermal insulation.

In these cases, the integration of a heat pump system with RADIALIGHT electric radiators in specific rooms is the particularly suitable, timely and minimally invasive solution.

LIMIT 2

A heat pump system, with an underfloor distribution system, often presents problems in bathrooms. This is because the surface of a bathroom is significantly occupied by sanitary fixtures under which the heating pipes often do not pass or because the coverage density of the coils has been sized like other rooms. Paradoxically, in the room where temperatures should normally be higher, the system is actually less efficient.

The installation of a heated towel rail, always powered by the heat pump system, does not solve the problem. In fact, it is always powered with the same circuit as the underfloor system, at a low temperature and therefore incapable of radiating heat, especially when used as a door or towel warmer and is therefore shielded.

In this case, a RADIALIGHT electric radiator is the solution to the problem because it heats quickly, as much as needed and only when needed, thanks to its intelligent electronics that you can adapt to your lifestyle habits as you like.
